You can join in one of three ways:
All applications by post should be sent, together with your subscription (at the current rate), to:
| HFHS
Membership Secretary Mrs G Thompson, 1 Hoo Close, Buckden, St Neots, Cambs, PE29 5TX United Kingdom |
For new members: whatever way you choose to join, you should receive your welcoming pack within two weeks, although if you live outside the United Kingdom the time may take slightly longer because of postage delays and mail transit times.
If you require further membership information, you should write to the membership secretary, enclosing an SAE or one IRC, at the above address.
There
is an annual subscription which is payable on joining, and on 1st January
annually each year thereafter. Both new joins and renewals can also be paid
by credit card via the On-line
Family History Fair (GENfair).
If you wish, you can pay for more than one year at a time - up to a maximum
of 4 years - which will protect the subscription paid from any increases
in those years. For applications and renewals sent by post, we can accept
certain foreign cheques as detailed under Payment Information below.
The current rates are as follows:
| Single membership in UK | £8 |
| Family membership in UK | £10 |
| Non-UK membership | See Currency page |
Applications for new membership made after 1st October annually will cover membership until 31st December of the year following, so giving more than 3 months free membership benefits.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Apart from credit card payments, the Society will accept payment for subscriptions, goods and services by Sterling, Australian, New Zealand and South African cheques, and US and Canadian Dollar checks, subject to the following conditions:
The Society maintains a record of members' research interests, details of which are published in the Journal. This enables persons with similar interests to contact each other. Details are requested from new members on the application form. A complete listing of members' research interests is published on microfiche every two or three years. The latest one was issued in March 1998.
This list of members' research interests is initially provided on microfiche free to all existing and to new members on joining. Non-members may purchase the fiche from the Publications list available on the HFHS Bookstall, or via the On-line Family History Fair (GENfair).
There
is an index of Huntingdonshire Surnames being researched by non-members
and members who are email capable. These email addresses have been published
on a Huntingdonshire
Surnames List of research interests maintained by Graham January to
help communication between researchers with common interests. You can publish
your interests on this site. The Society details for new members who are
email capable are also requested on the application form; if you do not
want your email address published, please make this clear to the membership
secretary.
