Brief Description:

STANDGROUND, a parish in the hundred of NORMAN-CROSS, county of HUNTINGDON, 1 mile (S.E. by S.) from Peterborough, containing, with the chapelry of Farcett, 1024 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £6.6.10½., and in the patronage of the Master and Fellows of Emanuel College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
