RAVELEY (GREAT),a parish in the hundred of HURSTINGSTONE, county of HUNTINGDON, 3¾ miles (S.W.) from Ramsey, containing 2212 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, with Upwood, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln, and in the patronage of Earl Sandwich. The church is demolished. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. This

The parish of Great Raveley was originally in the Registration District of Huntingdon from 1st July 1837. Subsequently it became part of the sub-District of Ramsey. From 1st April 1997, it has, once again, come directly under Huntingdon. |
